Access Clinic

 

 

The Carefirst Access Clinic in Markham, Richmond Hill, and Scarborough provides same- or next-day episodic primary care for people age 10 and older with non-emergency health concerns. Our Nurse Practitioners, supported by a team of allied health professionals, offer assessment, treatment for non-emergency health concerns, and connections to other necessary services. This clinic is especially helpful if you do not have a family doctor, while you are waiting for enrollment into Carefirst Family Health Team. Anyone aged 10 and over with a valid OHIP card is welcome.

What We Offer:

  • Treatment for non-emergency health concerns – E.g. Colds, flus, rashes
  • Personalized chronic disease prevention and management
  • Referral to local health and community services

We can provide services in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, and other languages via interpretation.

 

Eligibility: 

  • Aged 10 or above with non-emergency health concerns
  • With OHIP coverage
  • Currently not enrolled as a patient with Carefirst Family Health Team

Services Not Included:

  • Emergencies or life-threatening situations*
  • Annual health checkups
  • Long term treatments
  • Controlled substance prescriptions

Walk-ins are welcome! But appointments are highly encouraged for shorter waiting periods. Depending on our schedule, we may not be able to accommodate all patients who walk-in without a booked appointment. We reserve the right to stop accepting walk-in patients without an appointment at any time based on capacity.
