Carefirst Foundation

Carefirst Foundation

Carefirst Foundation was founded in 2006 and registered as a charitable non-profit organization (#83974 4943 RR0001) to fundraise for the Carefirst Seniors and Community Services Association (Carefirst Seniors) and other organizations with similar objective (i.e., to support the development of stable and quality community services for those in need).

Major Project

Since its first inauguration, the Carefirst Foundation Board had successfully raise $6 million to facilitate the development of Carefirst One-Stop Multi-Service Centre. The Centre provides an easy access to integrated social, medical and recreational services for community members in Scarborough.

Carefirst Campus of Care

Carefirst Foundation is excited to support Carefirst Seniors’ for another very meaningful and innovative development project, Carefirst Campus of Care. Carefirst Campus of Care, provided an integrated service to seniors and community with 120 long-term care beds, a medical centre and a community hub. The Campus of Care will also provide the option of life lease housing with assisted living services. The Foundation aims to raise $7.5 million by 2025 from the community to support this $104.5 million capital project.

Why Give?

Carefirst Seniors started as an ethno-specific service provider in 1976, offering a single meals-on-wheels service for the Chinese community. Now Carefirst Seniors is serving 16,000 clients across multiple cultures annually and has become a renowned organization in providing a continuum of services from homecare, community support services to residential care.

Carefirst values seeking accreditation as a mean to fulfill our commitment to effective governance and risk management, as well as to support ongoing improvements to client care and safety across the organization. In June 2022, Carefirst conducted the sixth round of an on-site survey and was awarded Exemplary Standing with a score of 100% met of all 444 criteria in five priority processes.
